The Dodgers ended the 2012 season with a lot of injuries as well as a lot of uncertainties as to when some players will be returning to action. Now as a fan this is a scary thought to know that one of your favorite players or a key player in the team may not be able to play the next season, but now that sometime has passed and some measures have been taken we have some good news.
In an article written by Ken Gurnick titled "Injured Dodgers looking good for Opening Day". Gurnick talks to Stan Conte who is the vice president of medical services, and he was able to get the rundown of how the injuries are coming and when everyone will be expected back.
Matt Kemp who was out with left shoulder surgery is expected to be back in time for Spring Training.
Clayton Kershaw who was out with inflammation of the right hip is already back and working out.
Chad Billingsley who was out with a partially torn ligament in his right elbow is already back and throwing in simulated games.
Carl Crawford who was out due to Tommy John surgery on his left elbow is expected to be back at the end of the month.
Ted Lilly who was out with left shoulder surgery is expected back at the start of Spring Training.
Kenley Janson who was out with heart surgery has already started conditioning.
A.J. Ellis who was out with left knee surgery is expected back for Spring Training.
Jerry Hairston who was out with left him surgery is expected to start baseball training at the end of the month.
Scott Elbert who was out with left elbow surgery is already scheduled to do his offseason program.
Javy Guerra who was out with right a/c surgery has already resumed his throwing.
Matt Guerrier who was out with right elbow tendon strain is already back.
Justin Sellers who was out with disk surgery has been cleared and is ready for full baseball activities.

Pitching Let's Get Excited
I don't know about you but I am more growing more and more excited for the 2013 each day that passes. I keep looking up the latest Dodgers news so I can stay in the loop about what is happening and which players we are acquiring and which players we are talking about acquiring.
The more I find out the more excited it makes me right now they are in the hot pursuit of 2 Cy Young award winners, Zack Greinke and R.A. Dickey. If they are able to get both of them on their team then that would make three out of the five starting pitchers Cy Young Award winners, and they would be one hell of a rotation to mess with. Right now the talk is that if the Dodgers can get both of these guys then the pitching rotation would be as follows: Kershaw, Greinke, Dickey, Billingsley and Beckett.
Now I don't know about you but that is one pitching rotation that could be deadly if it all works out and they stay healthy and injury free.

Christmas gift idea #1
So since I have been making a few christmas gifts for my dad inspired by the Dodgers of course I figured I would post about them and share them on here. Now I know I am nowhere near a professional and these gifts are not going to be the BEST but the thing that counts is the thought and that I tried.
My first present that I made is a canvas that I painted myself. I have literally had this canvas for over a year and could not decide what to paint on it. That is until one day while I was searching the web for some Dodgers quotes I found one that I fell in love with. It was a quote that was said by Tommy Lasorda to a fan. The quote is "I say this from the bottom of my heart that if you do not root for the Dodgers, then you might not get into Heaven." Once I saw this I knew exactly what I needed to paint on the canvas.
Now this is supposed to be a gift to my dad from me but I love how it turned out so much that I am beginning to think that it might end up being a gift to the two of us from Santa.

Going Crazy
So I don't know about the rest of you but for me the offseason is the worst. I feel like I am dying without being able to turn my TV and Radio on to hear a Dodgers game or any baseball game for that matter. When you life consists of baseball 24/7 the offseason is a hard time, and April can not come soon enough!
Even though there have been no games to watch there is still news to keep the fans updated and close to their teams. Every day I find myself checker for the lastest Dodgers news, but I have yet to hear the news that I want. My biggest fear right now is about the Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley and whether or not hes going to be able to have a 2013 season.
Last season Billingsley ended his season when he tore a ligament in his elbow. He then proceeded to have to injections into it which are supposed to help with the pain and prevent surgery. After having those injections the wait was on to see if they would help or to see if further measures such as surgery needed to be taken. Now it turns out that if surgery is needed then Billingsley will be out for the entire 2013 season. To me this would be devastating because not only is he my favorite player but he is also a vital role in the pitching staff.
There has not been any for sure news given except that Billingsley was able to throw a few pitches without pain. This is a good sign and gives hope that he will be able to participate in the upcoming season.
Another good sign is a quote from his agent, "It looks like he's going to be ready for the 2013 season."

The Pain is Still There
So it has now been two days since the San Francisco Giants won the World Series and the pain is still haunting me.
At the beginning of the season back in April I had made a bet about how the Dodgers would make it further than the Giants would. Now we all know how that played out. Not only did the Giants surpass the Dodgers they went on to win the World Series. I did not believe this would happen or I would have never made the bet, but a bet is a bet and now I must pay the price.
I am now officially a "happy" owner of a SF hat, (well when I receive it in the mail). I have to wear it for a day and take pictures in it which is going to kill me, but I am a woman of my word.
Once I am done with this bet I can begin to breathe again and look forward to next April and the things to come. I believe that next season is going to be one of the Dodgers best if they just learn to mesh together and they stay healthy.

Take my Breathe Away
So, I know I already wrote a blog about the game last night but there was something very cool that I did not mention in that blog.
I am not the type of person to get star struck when they see famous people but when it comes to my top idols who are: John Cena (wrestler), Chad Reed (motocross), and Chad Billingsley (Dodgers Pitcher) you best believe I become like a little kid in a candy shop.
Last night started out like any other Dodger game, but there was just this emotion through out the crowd that it was going to be a goodnight. Now before my dad and I had even got to the game I had told him that my goal for the night was to get Billingsley to sign my shirt.
Now this was not just an ordinary shirt, I have a tradition that I have been doing for years. That tradition is that every season I make a homemade Chad Billingsley shirt to wear to the games. The past two years the shirt has basically been the same but with minor changes done to it. This year it was very simple because I knew that if I ever got it signed it would be going in a frame and it would then be hung on my wall. So the only thing I put on it this year was I Heart (an actual heart with 58 which is his number in side it) Chad, on the front of the shirt.
As the SF Giants were doing their batting practice the Dodgers pitchers began to come in and out of their bullpen now this kind of discouraged me because I had seen Billingsley but by the time I had seen him he was already heading inside. Once I saw that I got a little bit down and figured that I was not going to be able to get my shirt signed.
The next thing I know I see Steve Yager, who is a former Dodgers catcher, out in the bullpen and he was signing a few of the fans balls that they tossed to him. So I decided what the heck I might as well get his autograph because 1 autograph is better than none. So I went over and got his autograph and then sat back down in my seat.
A few minutes later I see Chris Capuano and Billingsley come back out to the bullpen and start signing autographs. Naturally I jumped out of my seat and ran right over and the first one I got to was Capuano so I handed him my pen and threw him my shirt and the look on his face when he opened my shirt was priceless.
He started laughing and I asked him, "Hey would you mind asking Billingsley to sign it for me please?" Capuano then answered, "Yeah no problem." He then called out to Billingsley who was at the other end of the bullpen, "Hey Chad, buddy, what do you think of this shirt?" Billinglsey responded, "Ha Ha thats one of the best shirts I've ever seen" "It's pretty amazing if I do say so myself" I replied. I then told him that he should come out of the bullpen and take a picture with me and the shirt and he said "I don't think I could fit in the shirt and don't think it would look to good on me" Capuano heard him of course and said "It would be funny though to see you try and put it on Chad"
Mean while as I am having conversations with Billingsley and Capuano they are passing my shirt around to all of the other pitchers so they could sign it for me as well. After that the game was starting so they had to go and I had to go back to my seat. But that is defiantly an experience I will never forget not only did Billingsley sign my shirt but I had a full on conversation with him it really made my night!

So last night was a crazy game even though it didn't mean anything. The Dodgers still went out there and put their hearts on the line and came out on top. Beating the Giants 5-1 and taking the series 2-1.
The atmosphere was insane at the stadium last night. There was no pressure even the fans knew that the game was just for fun, but that did not stop them from screaming and chanting for their favorite players. The famous "Cruuuuuuuz" chant echo'd I don't know how many times showing him that he has won the respect of his fans. There was also the always present chant of "Giants suck" that comes alive when ever the Giants are in town.
I asked one Giants fan who wanted to remain anonymous what he thought about the game and his response was, "It was a good game but the best part about this series is that it was one of my favorite things to see, Dodgers miss the playoffs". Now he was technically referring to how the the Dodgers had lost the night before which meant that they lost their chances of making the playoffs and that their season was now over.
After the game was over something pretty cool had happened. Andre Either and Adrian Gonzalez came out and thanked the crowd and all of their fans for supporting them through out the season.

All we do is WIN!
So, yesterday i posted about how the Dodgers need a win last night in order to help their dreams of making it to the post season alive. Well guess what? They did it so post season can still happen with the Cardinals losing last night and the Dodgers winning that makes them only 3.5 games back of the wild card now.
Dodgers will play tonight as the Cardinals have the day off. If the Dodgers take the W tonight that would clear up the 0.5 game different and make them only 3 back of the Cardinals.
The race for post season is getting really slim and crazy anything can happen all we can do is sit back cheer on our teams and hope that they can pull through. :)

Can we do it?
So if you follow baseball at all you would know that the last month (September) is one of the most crucial. It is where dreams come true but are also shattered. It is in that last month where it is determined who will make it to the play off and later to the World Series. For several teams their fate is already determined and they already have their spots in the play off's set but for others they are in the heat of a battle to clinch that last Wild Card spot which then will allow their dreams to continue.
Dodgers find themselves in that spot. They are 4.5 games back of the Cardinals with only 7 games left to play. Now this puts them in a really tight spot but it is not impossible they can still pull it off, but it is going to take a lot for them to do so.
The talent to win is there, they just need to find it in themselves to get their pitching and hitting in sync and they could be a very powerful team. As Dodger fans we can not give up hope, got to keep our faith in them because anything can happen on any given day!
Today they will play game 2 out of a 3 game series with the Padres where they will be looking for that win.
